Question MP3 Radio problems...

Started the car up tonight and no radio....All it does is flicker faintly. I checked the fuse and it looked fine but it was dark out so I'll check again tomorrow...Its the stock MP3 Kenwood headunit. Also, when the car is on, it takes a while for it to open and close(after hitting eject), but when the car is off it opens and closes as if normal....Any ideas as to what might be causing the problem and any fixes?

Thanks.
Scott.

possible loose wiring @ the back?? like the power cable... or even a possible grounding problem??

check the wires first...

I guess it couldnt hurt to check tomorrow, but I've never taken the HU out or anything so I dont know how common it would be for it to just come loose on its own...?

common propblems with the kenwood audio in the mp3s and msp's..... Mazda used all kenwood factory refurbs in these cars to help cut down on costs. The problem I believe is linked to the contact points on the detatchable face and the receiver. I've heard of some people being able to use foam tape or something to keep the contacts solid.

if it were me I'd just sell it and buy something new. I've had 3 kenwoods in my msp (all before 3200miles) and 2 in my p5 (cause I wanted the msp look.) They are glitchy as hell.

Good luck

It's been fine up until now. ZERO problems and than all of the sudden this. Hopefully it is just the contacts and it can be easily fixed becasue I'd rather not go spending the money on a HU right now...We'll see though...

Thanks.
