crazy electrical problems after radio change

i bought my 92 protege Lx 3 months ago im in florida
its an ohio car, i payed 400
and have sence replaced the radiator, rebuild the rear calipers, replaced the rear rotors and front pads, and rear pads actually changed the oil 3 times and put almost 10,000 miles on it
it came with a crappy CD player upgrade, it crapped a few days ago, the CD drive never worked but i listened to the radio, which a few days ago stopped picking up signals

So as a temporary replacement I installed an old sony tape deck
which worked for 3 hours or so, till I used a q-tip to clean the pots inside so it stopps crackling when playing tapes, the q tip had some rubbing alcholal(sp) on it, after cleaning it tapes sounded fine
till I noticed the display on the stereo went out.

and hour later I look at my digital clock and notice its out
that night i notice my interior lights dont work
and later comming home i notice my power locks dont work

radio interior lights power locks digital clock

all out

sunroof and pwr windows still work

its been 2 days, ive sence removed the tape deck and now ontop of having malfuctions i have a big hole in my center dash.

Does ANY one know what happend to me?
PLEASE help

Have you checked your fuse panel? If you find any blown fuses, you need to pull the radio out and check the wiring for shorts, although that should only blow the radio fuse....

the power buttons little LCD backlight works, so its getting power
