When I have some time I will probably post some pictures. I don't have a digital camera so I have to borrow or go the long route.

The leather is not a factory option but all the Mazda dealers around here anyway seem to know good shops to get the leather done. Otherwise, my car is a stock silver P5 with a standard and all the options, and I plan on keeping it that way for a while, unless the info on the J-spec cams and such makes me want to modify my engine before the warranty is up

Dale.

Thumbs down

Dealer wanted $2,000.00 US over MSRP, stating on the limited availability of the yellow, I told them to stick it, I would go and buy the red on the other dealer. After 2 hours, got it $300.00 below MSRP, with free floor mats (mine did not come included), one free oil change, 2 free gas fill-ups (Mazda gives you one), and an extremely low APR.

Damn my sales guy hooked me up, i got the 2 free service changes, oil, filters, etc, also MP3 floor mats, 3 free detailing services, as well as a car alarm (made sure that it was a good one) and my final price after tax tags title, was about 19,600 or so, not a bad deal for me at all!

Leather

I have to agree with Dale the extra $2000 for leather in the P5 is so worth it. I decided to take the plunge as well. I have to admit though you do slide around quite a bit. It is really worth the cost you should check it out neuromancer.

I also got all the options for the car including that electrochromatic mirror. Not really worth the money, but this is my first new car, and I wanted to get it all.

$2000 is pretty steep for my situation. If I intended to keep the car for a long time I might consider it. I have a friend that works at a Mazda dealer and I am going to get him to price out the leather.

Do you guys have a picture of what the leather looks like?

I talked to him about installation (he's done a couple) and the old covers can be salvaged, so if I got it done now I'd be able to keep the old covers which is a bonus.

So many things...so little money

Picture

Sure,

I can get pictures of the mirror, and the leather seats. It may be a couple of days though.

The leather seats were done in Vancouver, at least that is what I was told. When the car was shipped over from Japan it was sent to some place in Vancouver to have the leather installed, and then the car was shipped to Calgary. The seats look as though they came from the factory, it is that good (My opinion of course, and I want to justify the cost ).

I did not really try and deal too much on the seats, I was just so pumped to get the car in the first place. You may be able to work on that price a bit. I do want to keep my car for a while so that is why I spent the extra, I can understand if you did not want to.

I actually saw a car that had two tone leather, and it had GTR embroidered into the seat as well, it looked really sweet. It was a yellow P5, so there was yellow leather in the center portion of the seat and black all around.
