How do they know if I quality for "Graduate Discount"?

How do they know if I quality for "Graduate Discount"?
I finally found the best deal for a Protege5 on the newspaper. The price was $14988 after a $400 "Graduate Discount". You qualify for this, if you graduate in the next 6 months or you graduated in the last 2 years. How would they know if I qualify or not? I get to graduate from college next year.

you're supposed to give the dealer some document from your school. I was supposed to get the "Graduate" deal when I bought my Protege last november- at the time they were giving away a free Palm Pilot Vx. I sent the dealer all the info- haven't seen any Palm Pilot 
Make sure the dealer knows how to get you the deal, apparently my dealer didn't know anything about it.
