Modifications and voiding warranties?

Hi Everybody
I am from Canada, I am just wondering what their dealer says when they mod their cars? I want to put an intake and exhaust into my P5, but the dealer threatened to void the warranty if anything goes wrong with the engine in the future. I am just wondering if there are any "mod friendly" dealers? or they are just bluffing?

if you have any engine problems, all you have to do is re-install all the original equipment prior to taking the car back to the dealer. That is what my dealer instructed me to do

I asked the service rep about putting a intake on my car, because they were selling it in the parts department. He said it won't effect the warrenty.

check out this link to the FTC website, it most likely wont help you out in Canada, but there may be some kind of act like it...

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/...y/undermag.htm

This link was given to me by funkdaddysmack a couple of weeks ago. My friend has a Ford Focus, and he bought a new gas cap from Autozone that had a lock on it. A couple of days later, his engine light came on. He went to the dealer, and they said that he voided his warranty because he didnt buy a "Ford" gas cap. I gave him that link, but havent heard what the outcome was. By US law, a company cannot make you buy there product unless they can prove that only there product will work correctly with the existing product.

Hope this helps...
