Talking Maybe A Protege? heh

I'm thinking about getting a protege5, but i'm not sure exactly if that's the car for me. Is there any flaws about the car that you guys can point out for me? It looks very nice, but is it fast enough?

This should probably be in the 3rd Gen or General forums...but hey, I'm not a moderator.

The main complaint has been a lack in horsepower...which is a) something that can be dealt with, and b) something that is common for vehicles in the same price range and class.

Others have mentioned an engine rattle when starting up first thing in the morning...I haven't experienced this with my 2001 Sedan, so I couldn't tell you too much about that.

All in all, I'm sure you'll get positive responses from pretty much everyone.

Take one for a test drive. Be the judge for yourself on whether or not you like the car.

protege's have a great track record, just a little under rated when compared to a civic or corolla. i beilive it to be related to the number of them out there. (there has got to be at least 3 times as many civics on the road as protege's) i also belive the protege to be built better than the civic. (i do own both, but the wife drives the civic)

People, even rabid fans of the car, have their quibbles with it, and most people agree that it could use another 20 hp, but seriously, what car wouldn't be improved by another 20 ponies?

For the money it's an astonishingly good car.
