Looking to buy a Protege 5 or MS Protege

Hello all! I am in the market for a new car since my Bloody WRX is so expensive.
The other day I am at the Mazda dealer looking at the Protege 5. Overall I liked the car even though it was lacking in the power department but hey it was still uber nice. But then I saw the Mazda Speed Protege, cheap comes with a turbo (not much of one but its a turbo) I got inside of it. The stereo was nice especially for a stock sytem, even though its not technically stock parts. But now I am torn on whether to buy the MS Protege or the Protege 5.
Now my question is how easy are the 2 of these cars to mod...ie power mods for sure and basic mods to like making the fogs come on with the parking lights, intakes, exhausts and etc...

Thanks

The MS Protege is a better deal if you want the goodies inside like the turbo and suspension components. But the P5 is not really lacking in the power department drift as you think. The P5 can be made fast with a aftermarket turbo that cost around 4000 dollars.

There are also many performance parts for the Protege if you don't want to shell out for the turbo. These include exhaust, intake cams, intake manifold from the JDM Familia S-Wagon, which is like our Protege with a higher hp engine. Intakes, and exhaust are also available.

You'll find alot of info on the basic mods by doing a search and other information is in the Protege FAQ. All of which you can access by clicking on the respective buttons on the top of the page.

yah, i was looking at the spool kits and they seem to be an
easy 5-6psi giving the Pro5 a 160whp range...should be fast
enough for this car. 0-60 low 7sec?

i might to that later, but for now, the pro5's my commuter
and i like its fuel economy and style.
