Kartboy or B&M Sihfter?

they are height adjustable, weighted, but very pricey. the classic series **** is a little smaller than the stock ****, but you can adjust the height at least. according to TWM you can adjust the height a full 1.5" up.

The reason I went B&M isthat they keep the height about normal (same as stock MSP or MP3) and simply reduce the throw. Also they come with the sweet bronzeoil pivot...
Thatsaid. Umm, how tall are you looking for? It'd likely be difficult to get a boot to agree with an adjustable height shiftknob, but if you'd like just something taller, and don't need anything annodized or have means of doing it yourself, I make shiftknobs in school all the time (machinist in training)

i havent put the shifter in yet, so I dont know if or how much taller I will want it.
But I will keep you in mind if you want to do a little project for me. Heck, I'll even pay ya. You cant beat a custom shift ****...

i know that msg wasnt directed to me, but they could just mean its not in stock or they couldnt find the part number. if you provided them with the correct part number most parts dept. can order you anything. from my experience, the parts dept couldn't care less what you put in your car, its inflated revenue for them no matter what you do with the part. you might have some luck searching for a used one on the forums.

The MSP shifter does NOTHING to reduce throw, it is simply shorter. the same results could be achieved by pulling off the extension from your stock shifter.
either way, jsut get a B&M, they're WAY nicer all around, and you won't be punching your big gulp everytime you shift now.

Good call. Except it isn't my big gulp I'm worried about. It's the giant 64 oz slushie from Fizz City at Sheetz
I wish there was a place I could to actually feel the difference between the stock and the aftermarket shifters.

WHere you from, I'd assume there's atleast someone in your state ifnot city with atleast one of the shortshifters.
DIfference between kartboy & B&M in use isthat the kartboy is WAY low, physicalyl shorter than anything else really. The B&M is the same height as a stock MSP which is a bit shorter than a stock Protege. (if you pull off your boot, yuo can see wher ethe extension is welded on)
The B&M actually has a shorter throw than the kartboy, and it comes with the Bronzeoil pivot which is an AWESOME upgrade over the stock-style "sandwiched bushing" setup. that the kartboy will retain.

out of the 3 majors listed before (Kartboy, TWM, and B&M) TWM has the shortest throw distance, kartboy is the shortest height wise, and B&M is the hardest to install. I have installed all 3 and driven on all 3, this is of course my opinion, but if your looking for the best feel it would be from the TWM, those ball bearing bushings are nice, and when you combine with the polyurathane bushings (kartboy or now offered by TWM) and some bronzeoils from Corksport you end up with a really firm positive shift.
I found a bearing store in my hometown, sold me two flanged, sealed, oil resistant ball bearings to fit in the end of the Kartboy shifter I ended up getting. (I couldnt resist, the shifter was on sale directly from Kartboy and included the $25 bushings free.)
I looked at the bronzoil bushings that corksport sells, and for the money they want, they are utter crap IMO. I got both Bearings to look just like the TWM for $15!!!!
Just take your shifter to a local bearing/machine equipment shop and the bolt used to connect to the linkage, and they will hook you up. I will try to get the bearing specs that fit my setup to post them here.... may be unmotivated though as they are now in the car, adn I dont wanna take it apart. Maybe I'll even post pictures.
And DAYUMN, that Kartboy is a short fast shift!
