Jeremey or anybody else, does this soft engine-mount thing have a solution to fix this jerky problem?
I would love to see a fix mechanically other than keep working the clutch...

- i heard K&N filter and sparco plug wires would help, but they didn't work for me.

- altering the throttle tip in helped a lot:

- another option is firmer engine mounts. there's a lot of comments on the boards that the aftermarket mounts are TOO hard, and transmit too much NVH. but the following post makes me wonder if home made motor mounts might provide a middle ground. some links to some mr2 and importnut sites that look promising:

Hey guys, it's not a weather related problem, becuase i live in Southern California, and it was 85 degrees the other day and my car was still a bucking bronco too.
It was REALLY REALLY bad a while ago, and i took my car to the dealer and they found out i had a partially collapsed pressure plate and throwout bearing (I dont know how a throwout bearing collapses) but they gave me a new clutch (i had about 7000 miles at the time) and it got a bit better. It's been getting worse and worse as time goes on.... I've heard things baout the flywheel being too heavy and stuff, but the dealer didn't know anything baout that.

interesting comment bout the flywheel, but the other way round.

i put a liteweight flywheel in another car of mine, and now it jerks like the p5, which made me wonder if the stock p5 uses a liteweight flywheel to increase throttle response, at the expense of smooth driveability.

but the rubber eraser in the p5 throttle disc was a big improvement, at least for me.

try this

Hey i had the same problem too for months! I took it to Meineke and they told me it was bad spark plug wires. So i finally took it to them and they fixed it! No more stuttering! At first it was the computer, then the air flow meter, but now at last the spark plug wires. They also said that this valve was messed up but my car is running fine now.
