Cool P5 Newbie...

I just wanted to say hello. I've been looking for a Protege' forum sine we bought ours in August! I'm glad I found one!

I have a few questions though. Are there any performance modifications available for the car yet? It is my wife's daily driver, so no loud exhaust. Is there a chip? Intake?

Also, our car has a stumble while below 2000 RPM's. I've had it to the dealer twice, and they say it's normal. And I have driven a couple Protege's off their lot, and once warmed up, they do the same thing. It happens when I'm in traffice mostly, going 10-15MPH in 2nd gear, and I get back into the gas (no matter how lightly I touch the pedal) and it bucks like I just dumped the clutch. Is there a recall on this? Anybody else having this problem? It's really annoying! And I'm tired of spilling coffee all over the cupholders and console when it does it!

Other than that we love the car. She absolutely loves it. I find it fun to drive, but a bit lacking on the muscle side. It's a blast to toss around the corners though!

Thanks for listening!
Bill

Other folks have complained about this, while others say just be gentle on the gas. I don't have to much of a problem in 2nd, 1st gear I have tried once or twice in rush hour and yeah it can be a bit of PITA. Bucks a bit. Well every car has it's faults, slip the clutch a little and learn to live with it. Not the best advice in the world but until there is a fix for it, it's the best I have.
