interior squeak

Yesterday i noticed it driving home. A sweaky noise coming from the passenger side, front interior somewhere.

It only squeaks when i go over road bumps and is quite annoying. it seems to be coming from the seatbelt retract/window area but i couldn't pinpoint it.

Anyone else had a similar squeak?

My wife and most frequent passenger has noted this noise coming from the vicinity you describe. I have not tracked down the problem, though.

She is convinced that it is a faulty seatbelt retractor, and that I'm not worried about fixing it because I *want* her to not be restrained in case of an accident.

I have the same problem and I know that it is coming from the seatbelt. I'm not sure which part though. It doesn't happen too often though (only if I lean forward really far or pull the shoulder strap on)...so I'm not really worried about it.

i also have the same problem...but mine seems to be coming from the drivers side door..it sound like a pendulum swinging back and forth. Its an on and off kind of problem....so far i'm also about to do the cat through manufacturers warranty..however i have to pay for the labour...about $80 aus because i've got a non-standard exhaust fitted.

Check the part where you buckle up the seat belt (can't remember the name) it makes a sqweaky sound, at first I thought it was one of the seats. I haven't fixed it yet but I assume it will go away by spraying some oil in it.

yap mine was doing the same thing, the upper seat belt area on drivers side, and the passenger bucler only when the seat belt is not buckled, i just moved around a little and it stoped making noises, that also worked for the drivers side area, plus i can't hear it anymore (music and exhaust) hehe

i noticed a lot of the interior parts are probably the same
manufacture that did Subarus as well.
and yes, my wrx had a nasty squeeky buckle so i sprayed a
tad of WD40 in the buckle (not where the metal male tab
goes into, but the side of the plastic (where red meets gray
housing) just for the heck of it. it worked!

no squeeks ever since (10k miles. )
