I'm Back
ok i used to be on this board a long time ago i had a 94 lx
then i sold it and got a civic and now i am coming back
i am buying a 2003 protege5 in a few weeks
i have questions though
ok i have to get an automatic because its gonna be a family car
but i have heard that they have an automatic liek the mazda 6 where you can shift
ok can somebody tell me about these car
this is kind ahappening fast and i have alwasy been in love with the p5

neither is standard for a P5 I thought...
the 5 speed is stock or standard, and the regular auto and sport auto are both options, at least they used to be. They are essentially the same box, one allows you to shift with the + and - things (the sport auto), and the other is just a regular 4 speed auto. I think all 3 boxes are still available...

ok guys i just called my insurance company and if everythign goes as planned
i will be picking my P5 up in hurst next week
i dont want to jynx myself but i'm happy as hell
i have heard they are excellent road cars
everybody tell me your favorite thing about the protege
my favorite thing about my old one was that it went 180k miles and never broke down and it purred like a kitten

My favorite thing about it is the steering/suspension feel. Very light, very quick, like an old Italian car. The driving position is also dead-on perfect (at least for me; I'm 6 feet tall). Big trunk, good looks, good-sounding engine, etc, etc, etc.
