Huuuurraaa.

hellow pals.
I live far away from you, in the Caribean coast of Colombia (Barranquilla). I love my town and i love my 1.6L (my wife is jealous often).
You have a pretty good forum, very useful for me.
I have seen in some of your cars you disconect the hose that goes from the valve cover to the intake rubber hose (big one) an put a little filters on each ends. What are you looking for with that mod? does it really works? and if so, where can i get those filters?

Thanks in advance
UHZT

I got a 99 1.6er. Not too many mods right now, alot of interior work, trying to get exterior and engine done now but money's hard to come by and I've only been able to find engine stuff from SR Motorsports (EXPENSIVE) and Corksport (MORE EXPENSIVE)

You have it backwards, unless you are referring to the Autoexe stuff, but that's expensive anywhere.

Hi.
I'm a tuning Newbie. I have a 1.6L Protege 2000, automatic.
I would like to tune that thing, but I'm totally new to this new era...
I would like to have a few advice about where to start, what to do first, what company does the parts (I live in Canada, so CDN stores would be great).
I want to start with engine/performance MODS... Please help me with this.
Or if you would have a good website / book where I can start from, I'll run buy it at the library (to prevent bugging people with my questions.)

Also, I've seen great stuff about wHP and wKW.... does anyone knows the STOCK wHP ?
That would be a good comparison start point about Dollars/perf-Percentage-increase requirement.

The first "Tuning" money I'll invest will be to have my windows tinted, a huge 175CDN$ investment... ha !

Thanks for your comment/reply... and welcome to any French discussions !

Woot! >clap clap< I have a 2000 lx 1.6 ...Emerald Mica. Had to mention the color. It gives it about an extra 3-4 horsepower. :P (kidding.. of course).

All I've done to my "Little Green Booger" as someone calls it... is tint the windows. I'm looking at rims at the moment. And also an injen intake and an exhaust. I also have to replace one of the side mirrors (mine met a wooden post it didn't like) so I decided to replace both of them with the paintable capped mirrors. I like the look of those better.

I was thinking about a new paintjob too. Maybe black... I'm not sure. Those 3-4 horsepower are goin' to be hard to part with. LOL
