How the heck do you...

Take off the bloody wheels! So there I am, out in my driveway, feeling like a numnutz because I can't take the wheels off. I got all of the lug nuts but it won't come off.

So I figured that maybe there's a nut under the centre cap. So I poke and prod, scratch the hell out of one of the caps, and I can't get it off either!

This is my first time playing with alloys and right now I'm convinced that it's a conspiracy against me...

A little help please!

Try lowering the car a little bit with all of the lus off. A lot of times the wheels get almost glued on and need to be bumped loose. When you lower the car just do it wnough so that there is light pressure on the tires. Then lift the car and the wheels should come off.

Put a couple of the nuts back on for a few threads and believe it or not, kick the tire. I took off my wheels the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was stuck. I simply did what I just wrote and no problem. Actually I think there is another thread on this very subject somewhere else on this board.

By the way, to replace those caps, it is $26 CDN per cap from the dealer.

you must be drunk, just hit the damn thing off, from behind with a rubber mallet, put two lugs back on lightly, and give it hell from behind, I used to work in a tire shop and we had the worst tires ever after winters, on trucks and whatnot, some we had to use sledge hammers because no use was coming from giving it hell but you shouldn't have to do that with a bran new car

before putting wheels back put some anti seize compound between wheel and hub. Do not put anyting on studs. Wheels will come off easier next time
