rubber bumper step-plate

Chuck,

Pleae tell me about your "rubber bumper step-plate." I've put a strip of clear, 3M Invisi-tape on mine, but I'd be interested in other versions.

Thanks

I've been using:
WIX #51365

At over 12,000 miles, I've gone through my fair share so far.

I try to steer clear of Fram. There was an oil filter study hosted on a Mopar site. I believe it's been taking down, but Fram rated as one of the worst filters. Mobil1 was one of the top, but I don't care to pay $10 a filter. WIX was near the top of the moderately priced filters.

Re: rubber bumper step-plate

Here is Canada the rubber bumper step-plate is a dealer accessory. Just a piece of textured rubber the sticks to the rear bumber to protect it from loading/unloading the hatch.

I went through this on my P5 yesterday... it is at the back of the engine... I had to get under the car to be able to see it... I am NOT looking forward to having to change the oil myself!

I looked all over that damn thing and all I found was the drain plug I think I may just take my shiot down to jiffy lube or something, not that I like it but I think it is going to be hell trying to change that phucker unless you have a lift.

Yeah I guess I could do that.

Hey, What do you guys think about using synthetic oil? I would think it is a good thing but I don't know.

The K&N part for the 2.0L proteges should be HP-1008
Fram shows PH6607 for the 2.0L Protege & they show the same for the 2.0L 626. The HP-1008 is the one that K&N shows for the 2.0L 626 so it seems like it would be the same if other filter companies sell the same filter for the 626 & protege. Im going to call K&N though to double check. Maybe they just dont have the site updated yet.
