K&N air filters

The latest mod, and the only engine/performance mod
is the new K&N air filter. The filter is oiled and you never have to change it. Only clean. I also noticed a little bit more of power from the engine. What do you guys thing? any body installed on of these on the engine? Thanks in Advance!

yes they are very good, but why dont you go ahead and put on a whole new intake, that will give you even more....

good suggestion
however
1. too expensive and does not produce much power
2. I have a 1.6 LX 2000 auto transmission

So as you can see the $$$ vs. the horse power is not worth it

auto stick wouldnt matter, reason i went with shiftronics auto is because i drive downtown and the other is im goin to turbo and my spool will be up all the time so i will be the faster dragger. but the intake will make a noticeable difference. also more growl. 150 bucks isnt much. or just do an engine swap.. hehe.

for that price, I wouldn't mind, however, the 1.6L runs for about 240 dollars, alot of money for my standards(college student+looking for a job) but don't get me wrong, I would put it in a sec 'cause I want to increase the power of my car. Engine swap...Hmmm... I would take a V6 turbo charged or 8 Cylinder. (You could tell now, i don't car about fuel economy)

well im working on putting a 460 with a dual tunnel ram and tubbing out the back of the p5 and making it RWD. I am looking for a DD right now. I have to get my 2 rock crawling jeeps finished though for comp this year. then we start on project "damn thats a fast p5" lol

I have an LS1 sitting at home to, and a 302 and 351 and amc 4.2 and 4.0... I know I know, its sad.

I didn't Understand a thing you said

will be a phat and sweet ride...I wish I could join
in helping you and I would like to see what is the end
result for the car.

I agree, that will be a fast P5!!

well my dads running a 500 with out the intake setup its about 750 street or 1100 for drag in HP. I am goin to be doin good enough to make the 460 fit with the bds blower. I hope to run about 700 Horse Power. Sad though that the motor is half of what i gave for the car. But if you want to be fast you pay the money.

and yes much faster!

talk about different perspectives lol

one is talking about drop-in air filter

the other is talking about dropping in a 460 and convert to RWD

IMO I would have taken out the air box crap and stuck a K&N cone filter on the end of your intake and called it good.

I've actually seen a dyno test of a *here comes the bad word again* stock FOCUS that gained 7fwhp by nothing more than a K&N cone filter! We ended up selling the guy our extra filter for 20 bucks because he was so elated!

Except for the Intake air temparature sensor that would have to relocated and modified, and the fact that your sucking hot air right off the engine....
