distance on one tank of gas
#32
I actually just got 500 miles on one tank a couple of weeks ago. Was driving from MI to MD at night (no traffic), very very light accelerations from the toll booths and never used the brake on the highway during the trip. Iwas trying to see what milage I could get... But I usually do almost all city driving and in the cold temps here in MI I get ~300 miles to a tank...

cold engine needs richer fuel mixture so if it's cold out and you take lots of short trips it will add up to lower overall distance per tank. I just did 370miles on $15 or 33.63miles per gal mixed driving. It's 26º outside today

In another thread, there were some problems where the fuel pump cut-off at the gas station kicks in prematurely...

That would explain some big variances in numbers.

I'm truly feeling inadequate here...I've been only getting about 530km (~332 miles) on a full tank of gas (car is a 5-speed P5, 18,000km on it, no engine mods), both highway and city driving.
Wow, that sucks large donkey *****...

On my 2002 LX I babied the car for one tank with light starts and did not exceed 105 km/h.
All highway driving in light traffic (no passing) and was running on fumes by the end.
Believe it or not I managed to pull off 717 km.
Only mod I have is a reactive intake and no a/c, 5-spd.

I did the math on my new (2000 mi) ES 5 speed. 26.8 mpg on hwy/city mix. I haven't been light on the pedal--love pulling out fast when the light turns green. I get 325/350 miles/tank. --This is almost exactly what I was getting in my '91 DX.

Well I'm not really sure what I get yet...with 775 miles on it tho, it is certainly improving.
My first tank I got about 265...about 300 my second, now on my third I got about 200 in half a tank.
03 LX 5'spd

Actually, a less technical explanation is that when it's cold and there's snow on the car, you start you car first and spend like 5 minutes trying to clear some of the ice and snow off. So you're just burning gas and gaining no miles
