Seriously, how fast were you going dude? I hit a curb doing 40 a couple years back, didn't come CLOSE to damaging the wheel that bad. Front driver wheel took a direct hit to the face of the wheel (not head on). And my wheel was pwn3d hard core, or so I thought.
EDIT: Thanks Chris.

I was going about 80 km/h or so, but this wasn't a dangerous road. It's pretty much a strait path, with a curve, but I went through that curve like I wasn't even steering.
Good thing there was no guardrail or anything O_o
The rim was just cracked at first, but the weight of the car on it as I kept rolling forward made the whole area between the spokes collapse
Lesson here is that if the rim cracks, it may collapse in the area between spokes; thus, more spokes = less danger at high speeds.
Here's a pic of pretty much what happened, not a sharp corner by any means, but at cruising speed it was enough to cause me to jump up and over the curb:
So now I'm stuck with a 1.8L Sentra

I don't have my RB rear sway yet, so zigging is difficult with my car
Nah, I don't think it was even an understeer issue. Any car should have been able to make such a weak corner, that why they didn't put any guard rails there.
It literally felt like I wasn't steering at all, car just went right into the wall, er, curb.

Moral of the story?
As a wise man once said: "Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you."

An understeering car goes through the fence nose first, an oversteering car goes through the fence tail first, and with a neutral-steering car, both ends go through the fence at the same time.
