I like DRLs. Had them on my last car, and got used to them. I didn't have to worry about my lights being on in the twilight hours.

Actually in Ontario, It is illegal to alter a factory lighting system on a car. Changing a bulb does not alter a system as long as the (cannot remember the word for brightness ) is not lowered.

I'm not sure where you're getting this from, but often people confuse the federal motor vehicle safety standards with provincial law. The Motor Vehicle Safety Act regulates what equipment a car must be imported into Canada with or manufactured with for sale in Canada. Once it has met those standards and been sold to you, you need only ensure it meets the standards of your provincial Highway Traffic Act (or equivalent). Ontario's HTA doesn't require DRLs or restrict you from modifying the car's lighting system as long as it still meets the requirements of the HTA, section 62.
