Daytime running lights?

Wondering if anyone knows how to convert the lowbeams on an '03 PR5 to daytime running lights?

Turn the lights on during daytime without the foglights...

Just kidding dude but it would be a lot simpler than messing with relays and wiring.

On the Canadian models the DRL module is located under the dashboard on the drivers side. The headlight switch is the same for US and Canadian models. However the wiring harness is different.

Because, I think the car looks SO much cleaner (so fresh and so clean) with the lights off. Plus, running my blue bulbs on a lower voltage caused them to look as hell. Just my opinion. If it's anywhere near dusk or anything, I turn the lights on for safety though, don't worry.

Maybe this isn't the place for it...but I was interested why people think DRL's suck.

Personal preference I guess. I personally hate them on any car, not just my Mazda.

Nick, so it's purely asthetic?

Personally, I think they a) look fine and b) provide another level of safety by making my Pro more visible.

I had a '98 Chevy Cavalier with DRLs, and it annoyed me to no end. I always had people telling me that my lights were on, etc. I think they look dumb, and don't add all that much to the safety factor.

Mind posting a link to those studies? I think it'd be interesting reading.

Here's a link to an IIHS FAQ on DRL's:
http://www.iihs.org/safety_facts/qanda/drl.htm

Nearly all published reports indicate DRLs reduce multiple-vehicle daytime crashes. Evidence about DRL effects on crashes comes from studies conducted in Scandinavia, Canada, and the United States
