Question Daytime Running Lights...help

I recently installed a H.I.D. kit into my car and this system uses 9-12 volts. Daytime running lights only put out 7 volts, so the H.I.D. system flickers. Does anyone know how to disconnect or bypass the Daytime Running Lights so I don't have to have my headlights on all the time while driving during the day. Please advise and thank you for your time.
