I figure if I'm not at 100k by the time it's paid for, I'm not driving enough.
You got that right. And the little nicks and scrapes and dings and crap are all part of owning and driving. I'll get 'em fixed up here and there - but the days of getting royally pissed off about tiny little everyday damages are loooooong gone.

I'm lagging behind a little (just short of 11k) but it does have a couple "battle scars" already. By the end of the summer I'll probably be around 20k. Lots o' road trips planned.

I picked mine up in feb 02 and now have a little over 30k miles on it. I hate putting all the miles on it too, but most of the miles were from working last summer. Sucks driving 35 miles to work and then about 100 around town doing landscaping, but only job around to give me enough money to not work through school.

What do you guys think about the paint? I have used a front end cover almost every day since April 02, and still have chips all over the frond bumper. I did not take it off all winter, except to wash it. And I would still see chips in new places without driving with the cover off? My girlfriend's dark green 96 Protege has 90k miles, never used a cover, and less chips than my P5. what the hell is going on...

Haven't noticed any paint chips yet, even after driving across Colorado and Nebraska in a dust storm. There might be some, though. Maybe they're just not as noticeable in the white paint.
I'm just mad at my @#$%!! neighbor's kid, and her stupid tricycle. Big ol' ding in the RR door. And they won't fess up to it.
I also have a scuff in one wheel, but that's my fault. (didn't see the ice)
