Anybody consider a Sentra SE-R?
#16
I actually wanted the MP3 but i also saw the P5 and was impatient when i made my purchase (1 Year tomorrow). I love the MP5 but now i want more power and i messed up by buying an AUTO. But my cousin did buy the SE- R not the Spec V and i've heard alot of people saying the base SE-R is most likely quicker than the Spec V because of the Transmission (Opinions of Course).

I really like the P5 but I also like the added horsepower and torque of the SE-R. I'm going to try and test drive one Tuesday, and then drive the P5 again right afterwards on the same road so I can compare the two.

My problem with the se-r is that it is related to the gxe and the other sentras. To me one of the best thing about the p5 is that it only comes in one main model that looks amazing. I like the se-r but that paint issue sounds horrible, and i dont like the idea of having a car that is a gussied up version of an old mans car. plus all p5's are made in japan, where as the sentras are made in the states.

Sentra Correction!
Not to nitpick, but the current generation (B15) Sentras are not made in the U.S.. They're made in Mexico, which, no offense to anyone, probably bodes even worse for the quality of the vehicle than if it was U.S. made.
My old B13 series Sentra was made in Tennessee, as was the B14's. After that, they shipped Sentra's manufacturing down to Mexico, per that good 'ol North American Free Trade Agreement. The Tennessee plant is still open, tough-- They make The Altima, Frontier, and XTerra there.
Jettas and The New Beetles are also made in Mexico. The New Beetle's reliability? Dreadful. The Jetta's? It's only average, but has been getting better...

I drove the P5, then immediately drove the Spec V...
the Spec V was awesome looking and performing, until the
interior...what the Hell?? Red screen on charcoal/balck nasty *** seats???
the Spec V would be mine , inspite of the interior...however all of the dealers were absolute idiots...$895 market value adjustment added to the sticker...you negoiate starting above sticker?? ... every dealer was stoned...no one wanted to deal ...this was a month ago....
Then I go to the Mazda dealer...red P5 Custom Red and Charcoal Leather interior, Polished Wheels, Sunroof, 5 speed...I fell in love, made a hell of a deal and love my new car....I wish I had more power....but that will come with a turbo later....
