2.0 Engine swap

Will any 2.0 engine fit in an 03 mp5? Has anyone swaped out the mp5 2.0 for a turbo, oh I dont know, say a wrx turbo? Will the awd of a subaru complicate things?

The size of the engine has nothing to do with 1000 other things like, motor mounts, wiring, ECU, tranny, axles just to name a few of the more important things. You can't just stick any old 2.0 in your engine bay and turn the key.

That said, if you wanna throw $20k into a Subie swap, go right ahead. Nobody'll stop you.

i have seen a rotary protege5 with rear wheel drive. anything is possible if you want to spend the money. turboing a 2.0 that comes in the car will net you as much if not more power than what a WRX has stock.

Thank you guys for the advise. I think I will keep my 2.0 and just have fun with it mod by mod. Thanks!
