There is no tariff on goods that pass threw the USA and canada! That was the whole purpose of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) You notice the word free right? So if you are getting charged by them call up the guy at sparko and find out why!!! also isn't sparko located in canada??

Although the wires didn't work for me, I still figure I would upload some pictures of them so you guys could take a look.

They do seem to look pretty sweet with my powder coated valve cover.

They are pretty big in size, so the rest are located here: (I shrunk the images size to make them easier to view)

then why do we have to pay duty when we purchase items fromthe states and have it brought back to canada?... at the us/canada border depending on how long we stay in the states we get a duty exemption... only items that are duty free all the time are items that are USA made..

Well i don't know. all i know is that in theory you don't have to pay a tariff. But you might have to pay sales tax. That is a diffrent story. in the USA if a good is bought from a state other then the state you are brinnging the item to... you have to pay sales tax to the state your bring it too. For example if i buy a part from texas and shipp it to NJ i have to pay NJ sales tax. so you might have to pay sales tax of canada. but i really don't know. I not saying i'm 100% right. i could be wrong.

Does anyone know if the 2.0 ones will be more affective than the 1.6 ones. I have a 1.6 litre 2000 Pro.

We have many satisfied customers using the wires on both the 1.6L and 1.8L engines. However, interest on this forum seems to be more on the 2.0L engigne seen in the newer models.

Gujustud==> What seems to be the exact problem ? What do you mean exactly by fitment problem ?

Also when did you get the wires and from who ?

Hi!

Our Vancouver Protege club, did a group buy directly from Sparkco with Peter.

A few things, first the original plugs that go directly into the valve seem to fit better. The original ones have a V notch all around the top, that make the top of the plugs have a SNUG fit. I can move the sparkco ones around, there is about a 1/4" movement in all directions, but the bottom of the plug seems to fit perfectly fine (around the spark plug), and from what Peter told me that is the way you designed them.

I ran into a lot of problems during idle. The was lots of hesitation, and the rpm would drop move anywhere from 600 - 200 rpm, going up and down EVERYTIME I came to a stop. When I accelerated from stop, in first/second gear, it would seem like there was drop out in power all the time, tons of hesitation. Even during crusing in 5th gear, every now and then it would seem like maybe one of the valve's wasn't working or something, and a slight drop in power, then it would start again.

Peter first mentioned that it wasn't the wires, but I told him I could put my original ones back in, and I have no problems. So he asked me to take a picture and send it to him. I'm not sure what good that would do other than him thinking that I installed them wrong, which isin't the case, cuz the originals work fine. I emailed him on friday and i'm awaiting a response. He did mention that they may be defective...
