painting a header?

Has anyone tried or even head of painting a header...possibly using a 1200 degree paint? any ideas? The stock header looks horrible and i would like to change that, but don't have enough to buy a aftermarket one.

just leave the heat shield on it and no one can see it....otherwise...you are actually wasting your time using any actual HI-TEMP paint....if you want to coat it with something that will actually last....you need to have it jet-coated...or aluminized. otherwise...eventually...the paint will just peel off bit by bit..and to me...that looks worse then with no paint on it at all.
