wich is better a short ram or a cai??? a friend of mine is selling his short ram (aem i think). he said just name a price. my thing is i want more performance, but i think a short ram would suck hot air off the engine. any help would be great.

heres the thing....when your car is in motion there is air flow through your engine compartment due to the motion of the car....and thus the temp inside your engine compartment is fairly constant its when you are stuck sitting and not moving a lot of air through there that its going to get noticably warmer......
the difference in temp of the air being sucked into your engine between those conditions and if you have a CAI are probably not significant enough for you to notice on a relitively stock engine....it MAY show on a dyno...but your butt dyno really can not tell the difference between the two intakes.
SO, what it REALLY boils down to is what you WANT....and how it looks.
Personally....I prefered the look of the CAI....to me it just cleans up the engine compartment. Not to mention I just LOVE that polished tube in there gleaming when you pop the hood.

I agree with Nuke. A CAI makes more sense in the long run. Don't hastily jump at something that isn't exactly what you want just because it's cheap. I learned that lesson LONG ago!
