Lower The Gas Prices Now!!!
Are you tired of paying 2.50+ for a gallon of GAS!!! Then read on, and don't stop!! I've done my part, you do yours!!!
Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to hit close to $3.00 a
gallon by the summer and it might go higher!!
Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action.
Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE
SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that
was going around last April or May! The oil companies just
laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue
to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an
inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT,
whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can rreally work.
Please read it and join with us! By now you're probably thinking
gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.56 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost! of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50- $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace....not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.
Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY
gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!
I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the messagereaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. If those three million get excited and ! pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!
Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all. (If
you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am ... so trust me on this one.)
How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.
If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

yes but thats not the case.
You tell me why crude oil 3 months ago was 54$ a barrel and gas was around 1.90$ a gallon and now crude oil is 50$ a barrel yet gas is 2.30$. Since the war in Iraq they have a monopoly over the worlds oil now. They can do whatever they want with the price. People say "if we went to iraq for oil why is it still so expensive" Well because when you have a monopoly over a valuable comodity (like oil) only a idiot would sell it cheap just cause they have a lot of it. There is no oil shortage and there will never be in our lifetime.

the recent increase in oil usage was because of our military projects oversea....demand to fuel more and more millitary vehicles has risen and the consumers are paying for it.
While I sympathize with the situation, chain letters and crap like this are annoying. Give 10 people hugs or you'll die of aids later today...THEN you can't buy any gas and the companies will reduce their rates.
tired of high gas prices? Buy a $2500 moped and get 80-100mpg on $2.00 worth of gas all while driving at 45mph or so. sure it's slow and dorky but if gas prices are SO important to you then you shouldn't mind.

People love cars. Cars love gas. Hybrids are not economically viable yet, and gas isn't renewable. It's not getting any cheaper anytime soon.
If you think prices are high in the States, they're higher here, and even higher in Europe.
If only I had a large sail to help me get to work.
Then again, I wouldn't have Zoom Zoom then.

You know, OPEC has just about obsolute monopoly, not just the 2 biggest companies - Its ALL of the major companies which own about 98% of oilfields, they get together just about once a year and set prices for crude oil and blame it on deminishing reservour of oil. And centless and matty are right, this **** (chain letters) are annoying and you should think about inelastic demand for oil before you put this **** on here. Or take a damn economy class to learn about OPEC, demand, supply and elasticity of both.....

...the one major factor that is contributing to high oil prices is China. They are (and have been) experiencing breakneck economic growth that has been putting a strain on many of the world's resources including oil, steel, nickel, and copper. They are ALL getting more expensive, due to massive construction and a booming auto market in China. Did you know that China is now the world's third largest automarket, having surpassed Germany this past year? It's true, you can check it out by doing a search in the Detroit News. In the past decade, they went from a nation that commutes on bicycles to a nation that commutes by car. You figure, in a nation with a billion people, if only a small percentage can afford a new car it is still a huge number. The prices are high not because OPEC is trying to get rich, but because all of the major oil companies are close to pumping and refining capacity. Fortunately, the same market forces that drove oil prices up in the first place will entice more oil exploration, drilling, and refineries to be built. But this cannot be done immediately, since all take time to accomplish. Figure, we are stuck with high oil prices for a few years - unless we (or another major oil consuming country) undergoes a heavy recession and therefore reduces demand.

Considering that my entire family works within some branch of the oil industry, its good when oil prices are up. Either way gas never gets overly expensive in houston because of the easy acces to the gulf of mexico pipeline. Down here gas has been hovering around $2.10 for a couple months, and it looks to be dropping down closer to $2 as we speak.
