Question Prices on used MP3's ????

Hey fellas,
Picking up my shiny "new to me" 2001 MP3 on Tuesday. I was just wondering what the going rate is on used MP3's. I could only find a total of seven combinded in Autotrader.com and cars.com, prices ranging from $24k to $17.5k. I was wondering if these are normal numbers or have those cars been sitting there overpriced? I appreciate any advice you can give.
Thx.

Whoa, $24k for a MP3? Didn't they retail at $18k? I didn't know they were that in demand.

25K. Wouldn't it be cheaper to get an ES and clone it out. Damn price gouging.

My local dealer just got one last week from Mazda USA. It was a sales rep car with 18K miles on it. Lazer blue. They were asking $18,900 for it, and were expecting to get it. They were selling new ones for $21,500 when they had them. I think they had this one sold about 2 hours after they took delivery. Had someone waiting for one. The dealers are using the low production to justify whatever price they can get. I tried to tell my salesman that it's the same powertrain as the ES with a cat back, and he went on this big spiel about how everything on the car was different. Whatever.

My car was only a little over 19k AFTER tax, tags, etc. BRAND NEW last year. My dealer didn't jack up the prices at all, but at the same time, 5 mos. after I bought my Mp3, I heard rumours of other dealerships jacking up prices to just under 25k. Go figure. Guess it all depends on how your dealership treats you. Couldn't be happier with mine. We've bought both our cars from them and I'm sure if we have a need for another we'll go back to them again. (p.s Congrats on your new mp3, you're gonna love it )

Anyone paying 25 for a mp3 is nuts. When I bought my p5 I saw two of them at the dealerships. Both were around 19000 . Anything more then that is just a rip off. I don't care how limited they are.

I was actually a little surprised that the mp3's were so inexpensive for everything on them when they came out... if they had been over 19 at the time, yes it would have been over my budget, but I don't think it would have been a ripoff to those that could afford it. I do think that the dealers jacking up the prices AFTER they've been stated to be a lower price is pretty sh!tty of them though, now that's a ripoff. 6k diff lol

Well I picked it up today and I would have to say its a beautiful car. Definately a head turner.
Pissed me off though because on the way home (9 hour car drive) the hood got chipped in a few places by rocks. So now I have to get the damn hood touched up.

Oh well, at least the wife was happy with her new car

I got totaly jacked on mine they were selling it for like 19.5k or something like that and I knew they were MSRP 18.5k but they said because it had the protection and underbody protection and they wrote it all out and I checked on the prices and everything was cool. I had an old nissan for a traid in I was supposed to get a grand for it and it was worth like 4k but I did not care anyways after I got all my paper work in the mail with totals and everything I paid 22.5k for it so I was jacked like a mother F*CKER
I don't know how they did it but nuthing I can do about it. they hid it and ended up not giving me **** on my traid.

I have looked everywhere for the mp3 the cheapest i found was for 21kand that was before tax +tags, etc. that's why i got the es b/c all of the three dealers I went to jacked up the price. i also looked on the net. I can't see how anyone would pay that much for a car.

edmunds.com

check this site out. i went to a dealer with this in hand and all they had to say was "oh that is off because they round their prices." bitches the edmunds prices were off by $1 or dead even. trust me you can deal. if you cant then do the mexican walk. that is were you tell them you want the car at and if they say we cant walk and watch them come running. 25k **** that
