K & N Intake.
Does anybody know if there is a difference between the Injen intake and the K & N typhoon intake. Besides the price difference?
I sorry if i post in the wrong place but there seems to be something wrong with the engine and drivetrain section of the forum. Can i get a intake that is for a 2002 model and put it in for a 2003 p5 ? thanks.

yes the intake will fit your 03, they have the same engines. any 3rd gen 2.0L protege uses the same parts as yours. your not gonna get incredible gains from any intake. if your willing to spend the money, the typhoon looks sweet, but the INJEN and AEM will do basically the same thing. expect slightly better throttle response and a little power, but for the money, its not gonna do anything amazing.

Dude, I've been working with K&N (Their headquarters is like 2 minuts from my school, UCR.) And i gave them my car for some prototyping stuff. Since then ( My last car was a Celica GT-S and i sold it before the final version was completed) I kinda lost interest in fixing up my car, and I don't really have the money either, and K&N still owes me an intake.
I could sell you the K&N intake for the price of an Injen shipped, if you want.

By the way, it is a K&N Typhoon CAI...James, the guy that i've been working with at K&N says that the kit retails for around $400. I know K&N does a lot of fit checks and stuff, so their quality is top notch. I've seen the dyno for it, and there is about a 6 WHP gain across the whole powerband.

Seriously, i wonder how the hell they expect to stay in business....I think they need to charge that much if they want to give people like me that give them my car free intakes and crap, but i dont think anyone's gonna buy it if its $400. So buy mine, it's cheaper =D
