This N/A header is a bolt-in replacement for the stock exhaust manifold. Our DYNO test shows a 7 whp gain. The header uses all the stock bolts and does have the 02 and EGR bungs.

yes, the obx headers on ebay ARE the ones we were talking about. I actually prefer the Wagner header pictured above. There is a dyno day video floating around that shows the Wagner header making more power than the OBX even though the wagner header keeps the catalytic convertor and the obx does not.

WTF?!?!?! look at those AFR's!!! the manual car drops off to 11:1....what ***!! The auto car stayed good until 5500rpms then took a dump like I've only seen on my MSP....

obx headers are NOT carb legal on the protege...they remove the pre-cat. If y cat is "safe" to remove it's the second cat....
the Wagner header does not have "carb certification" but It'll pass a sniffer I know for sure.

unless there is a specific carb exempt sticker on the aftermarket piece, or at least some form of documentation, the said piece is not carb approved. altering any piece of the emissions system, be it removing a cat or changing the exhaust manifold will result in a failure of the visual inspection (if the inspector knows what they are looking for). as for passing the sniffer, a single cat at operating temperature will pass. for those who have gone with a header that eliminates the first cat, you will notice an increased smell of unburnt gas that goes away after the second one is up to operating temps. the first cat is there merely for cold start emissions, thereby giving the fs-de in the last generation proteges the ulev branding.

fs-det manifolds new are unattainable. Available only through dealers and you can only get one if your manifold is cracked and will be replaced under warranty...
your best bet is to start searching junkyards.
