Question about 1.8L engines

Ok, i heard that Escord GT(1.8) has the same engine as mazda protege, and I also heard that Kia Sephia(1.8) also carries same engine. Has anyone done resarch on this topic, because i am having realy hard time locating an Protege ES engine.

I believe that except for minor differences which shouldn't really matter yes they are the same.

it's the same thing. The early 90s EGT engine is a bit different visually though.

1.8L engine swap

My question is, would kia's, or escort's engine fit in as easy as Proteges ES engine for the 2nd gens.

My car is a 97 sephia (look at my sig )
The EGT stuff is a bit different... but it should still work.
As for engine swap, the sephia engine should bolt right into a 2nd gen ES bay, just as if it were a protege engine.

Home made white face guages.

(analog odometer instead of the digital one in 2nd gen pros. Pros have gas and temp on left and tach on right... it's the other way around for me)
