Parking Brake Light - any insight?

Parking Brake Light - any insight?
I don't know what the problem is, but everytime i start my car, my brake light is off, but when i take off suddenly or turn sharply, the light comes on and won't go off until the car is turned off. i have an auto. so i never use the brake, so it couldnt be damaged or worn or anything...does anybody know what this is?~!!
