Muffler Looks
Just wondering if anyone has put a DTM style muffler (the one that curves upward at the end) on a 2nd gen prot. I like it, but that muffler can look really hiddeous on certain cars. I am leaning towards a "bomb" muffler design. Just wondering what different types people have seen on proteges.

I know I'm kinda out of the subject cause I really dont kno what da DTM muffler looks like but I would say that if you have the bodykit... the erebuni bodykit that is, I found a muffler that really matches the car. I'm going to go to Wal-Mart or something and get a cheap camera and actually take pics of my car. I never seemed to have a chance to get it taken after it got painted then my front bumper was remodeled.... literally. Well I'll show you guys in a few days.

That's most often what a DTM style muffler looks like. (with the bent-up tips).
They have ones without the bend but most of the ones on ebay have the upward curve.
DTM is a style influenced by German auto racing, and that dual tipped muffler, bent or not looks great on most BMWs, Mercedes. (The boxier models that is)

Yes I am going to go with the bomb/fireball style since I have seen them come in tunable versions. I really don't want my car to sound "ricey" so I have 2 chances to make it sound the way I want.
The fireball/bomb mufflers also seem to have the largest bore...

DTM IS FOR EUROPEAN CARS.
If u wondered why DTM looks bad on some cars is because those cars weren't European. DTM looks good on Jetta's Golf and other volkswagens, mercedes and AUDI's because it's for european cars..
DON't DO IT!
DTM is a touring car race series in Germany. All the cars used a curved up tip to fill the vortex of air behind the car to make it a bit more aerodynamic.

DTM
Yes I didn't mention about DTM since I wasn't sure anyone would know what it is. But yes, it is German auto racing. Deutsches Tourwagen Masters.
When I was in Germany I had the rare opportunity to see a big race at Nürnburgring. Quite unbelievable. Made me an instant fan.
They raced Opel Astras, Mercedes CLKs, and my favorite of the races, the Audi TT. VERY loud. Awesome awesome awesome. Maybe I'll post my pic of me posing with the TT :P
This probably belongs in a different forum allthough it is related

Here is a pic of a Ractive canister style on my car. One thing that bothers me most about canister muffler on my car, is that with auto tranny, it gives me a hell of a headache, and resonates so DAMN much! But under hard acceleration, it sounds amazing.
