I was looking for a used car and came across a 97 LX with 53k on it. the asking price is $5,500. i would like to get a general feel from people to see if it is a good idea to purchase it. thanks.

how does the car feel? like how does it handle, drive, accelerate, you know, just an overall feel for the car. also, how long do you think the engine will last?

these engines are really strong, and can last a long time, but if I were you i would try and get my hands on a 1.8 , it may be a long search but it is worth it

actually..... the 1.8 is easy to find......
it's EXACTLY same as 94-97 1.8l Kia Sephia Engine. (i know even a couple miata guys have used it).
A friend of mine has also successfully swapped his stock cams for miata racing cams.
Plus, the Kia engines (because of the not so prefered brand name are WAY cheaper to get)
