2.0 swap

I was wondering if anyone has done a 2.0 engine swap from the G3 protege, or if it is indeed podible?

No, it is impossible. Well, I am sure there is a way, though it will put you back more the actual car itself. The only engine you can put in our car, is 1.8 BPT with your choice of turbo or not, and obviously, you can put a stock 1.8L from the ES model. Unless you have lots of money, don't do it. Oh, yeah, and make sure that TheMAN does not see this thread, as you might not like his response of "NO". Goodluck.

why would i cost lots of money to put the 1.8L in place of the 1.5L? i checked and a-spec will do it for 1500 to 2000 us dollars.

I meant 1.8 BPT engine, not the stock 1.8 from ES.
And for $1500-2000 can possibly get me a turbo, and it is a lot less of a mess then swaping for what, some 15-20 bhp?

turbo for our car would cost over 3 grand, if i spend less than 2 grand i can have the better engine and before i put it in i'll get the better internals/headers/intake to have in the engine so it will have more than just 30 extra hp, and then i can add in the turbo next year and easily have around 200 hp and about 100 thousand less miles on the engine

so your saying a turbo for the 1.5 is 3 grand?? that sounds alittle rediculous. your best bet is to just get the ES 1.8 engine, do some NA work to it, then drop the ill turbo, and you'll have the ultimate sleeper. thats what i plan to do.

I did a lot of pricing and that is what i got priced for the turbo for my car even by braden.

That is what i plan on doing, pretty much exactly what bruce is doing, i might actually drive to NY when he is doing his
