Pricing opinion
Is $2200 a reasonable price for the car described here? Our ad is about to start in the paper and I'm having trouble determining if this is priced right. What do you think?

$2200 seems a tad high, although Kelley Blue Book says $2190. So your right there.

Thanks for the opinion. It's really a decent car. Too bad it needs paint because the interior looks amazingly nice. If we had more space I'd keep it for an autocross car, but three cars is about our limit!
It will be interesting to see what kind of response we get. The ad starts tomorrow morning.

I haven't been keeping up with how much the Proteges sell for because I plant to keep mine forever
I think that what you are asking for is a decent price. Mileage is low and you said that the car is in excellent condition. Go to www.ebay.com and check how much they sell for on there. It might give you a better idea of what the car is worth.

Well, the price must have been about right. The ad came out today and the car was sold before noon for $2000. I haven't been home all day, but it's almost 5:00 and only had two calls.... including the buyer's.
If there had been a lot of calls I would probably be thinking that I wasn't asking enough. Of course I'm perfectly happy to get one call as long as that person buys the car!

I took a lot of marketing classes in college... I write good ads!
The guy who bought it used to have a 626 that had close to 400K miles! He knew he wanted another Mazda. Since mine only had 94K he felt it had a lot of life left.
