IMO, the 318 handles better, and has a much nicer interior... I've driven both. And in 2 weeks, I'll have raced both at a National level.

BTW, its a 1.9L motor.
The 325i I have has better handling by far, especially in the rain. I've driven the 318ti before and I agree it handles better than the Pro and has a nicer interior, but there's something - I'm not sure what - that makes me miss my Pro now that I drive a Bimmer...

It has a lot more power (168 vs 114) but, eh, it's a heavy monster. Even the convertible is a beefy thing. So as far as acceleration goes, it's not much of a difference. But 0-60 (8 seconds) and passing cars on the freeway... it's a breeze. It's just a little scary looking down to see how fast you're going if you're not paying attention to it first off and being RWD, it's more balanced.

I agree the E36 is one heavy mother... haha.

That's why the E30 is my favorite model. It has a more balanced heaviness to it. But eh, they're built for the autobahn so they gots to be heavy and all.

lmao. Sorrry if I'm late on quoting this, but that just cracks me up. Before the BPT swap we used my car to put ricers in their place, and when it's out of the garage again that's the first thing we're doing

Haha. You'll have to post info and pics/videos when you put them in their place. Funny ****.
Be careful though. There's always the idiots that can't stand being put in their place, and then possibly seeing a camera or camcorder will send them over the edge. Stupid people do stupid things when they're pissed.

First intelligient thing I've read...

"The mustang is out of my leage. for really." Written by a Protege owner.

I was reading your "racing stories" section for a good laugh. I used to have a protege and sold the stupid car because it is sloooooowwwwww. It looks great and is fun on curves but half of you guys are full of **** talkin about "oh I beat a turbo civic with my stock 93 protege" or " I beat a mustang and i don't think it was a v6".

And this guy "deckedoutmp5".... Your car looks sick as f**k, I have to give you props there, but 350hp????? Can we see you're dyno readout please??? I call BS.

Just my 2 cents from a former protege owner. Cool site but my only suggestion is that we keep the racing stories a little more honest.

Even the regular members of this board are having to call BS with half the "kills" some of you claim.

My SOHC can take V6 mustangs with bad drivers, hang with the ones with good drivers. Then again the ones I've raced all happed to be autos. My newly turbo'd DOHC will stomp the **** out of a 6. Can't wait to race an 8

Tell me the class difference between a turbo civic and a turbo mazda besides the obvious H and M on the front? Oh wait..nm...Honda must be god.

What do you consider slow? For a non-sports-car FWD vehicle, the DOHC protege price to performance ratio is great. You must be comparing the $7,000 performance of a Stang to the $1000 performance of a protege. Look at the price difference.

How many people have fast protege's vs how many people have fast mustangs? Mustang's are like tampons...

Lastly...what board DOESN'T have BSers?

You're right, I had that gay *** Protege 5.

Exactly, non-sports car. They are all family or commuter cars.

I paid more for my P5 than I did my mustang. You can leave a mustang bone stock and put $3k into a protege and the protege will still lose.

I have yet to lose to a protege and doubt I ever will. I am in Northern California if anyone wants to put their 130hp to the test. And what do you consider fast??? Just because you add CAI and exhaust that is too big for your motor, that doesn't mean you are fast. That doesn't mean that "you think" you have 200hp. Do you guys ever dyno your rides? Is pushin 200hp fast? You guys seem to think so. How many people have fast mustangs?? If you think a 15 second 1/4 mile is fast (which most of you do.) Then I guess all v8 stangs are fast.

I'm not trying to be an ***. I understand that all boards have BS. There just seems to be an awful lot in your racing stories section.
