When I stop at a light and the engine drops to idle, sometimes the tach goes back and forth from just below 1K to kind of rumbly around 500.

I recently advanced the timing a few degrees (rotated the distributor). No knock or ping, a little bit more torque...and I hadn't ever noticed the oscillation before this.

Any ideas?
