Is there one for the 1st gen pro lx?

 

yep, fidanza 9lb for our LX - but if you're also gettin new clutch, might as well get the ligter miata flywheel

in other words, whichever flywheel you get, you need the corresponding clutch application...

 

miata 1.8 and miata 1.6 flywheel are the same

 

what i should have said is 'corresponding clutch' KIT or more specifically PRESSURE PLATE...

the 1.8 and 1.6 flywheel are the same size, but the pressure plate MOUNTS DIFFERENTLY; so if you use the 1.6 flywheel, you need the 1.6 pressure plate AND 1.6 disc

its all makin sense now...

i wondered why fidanza made the friction surface on my 1.6 flywheel with an OD of 215mm, when my 1.6disc OD is only 200mm... its gotta be because of the 1.8 disc being 215mm:
that way they can use the SAME friction surface for the 1.6 OR 1.8 'wheel - the ONLY FUNCTIONAL difference between the 2 wheels being the way the pressure plate mounts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry, a little too carryed eway)

now the only thing i'm at a loss for is the diffrence between the 1.8 miata and protege 'wheels... why did fidanza make a specific application for our 1st gens??? why does it weigh 9lbs instead of the miata's 8lbs, unless maybe there's(again) a diff in the way the p-plate mounts?....otherwise, as Jesse referred to; at least the clutch DISC must interchange with either one

 

the 1.6 miata flywheel is 1lb lighter than the 1.8 'wheel XACTLY where you want it 2bee lighter:

around the outside edge; because of the diff in the way the p-plate mounts...also, the 1.6 p-plate and disc should save some weight over their 1.8 cousins...
