After my last car got totalled when I was sitting at a stop light, I began searching for a new car and after not finding one for a few weeks my dad went ahead and got me a suitable car, and alas we found a black 1994 Mazda Protege LX for $2600 at a local Toyota used car lot.

The car has certainly grown on, the problem I have with it is that my last car (which happened to be a 1984 BMW 528e, and my very first car) had a 5-speed, and this car is an automatic. I don't mind it so much, but I enjoy a manual transmission so much better.

So if there's anyone out there who knows if it can be done and what it would cost to convert a Protege from automatic to manual, could you please help me out. Thanks!
