HELP 323 (sedan, 1989)One belt has come off from engine compartment

HELP NEEDED.

My 323 (sedan, 1989) steering felt heavy while stopping on office parking lot in the morning. Evening, when i tried to start the car, it did, but it was very difficult to steer it. I opend the front and found one of the belts (There are two belts, with two sets of discs) had come off. This belt is locted toward the top. I tried hard to put it back, but very difficult.

Any clue, what must have happened. This belt was making some noise a few days back, and never drive it on the highways, but had drive a 100 miles a day before all this happened.

Please comment. Thanks a lot.
