got my clutch and t. belt done...but now...
So I got my clutch and timing belt done...damn it shifts like butta now...it'll take a bit to get used to the instant engagement. My old clutch was almost smooth to the touch, and my t. belt could move side to side on the cam pulley.
The guy who did it (brother's friend) commented on how easy it was to do the timing belt and how clean my valves and lifters were after making fun of the size of the lifter springs.
Funny that it always seems that every time you fix something, a new problem occurs.
Now my cooling fan runs non-stop, and I have a nasty metal rubbing sound that sounds like it's coming from one of my front brakes? Does not make a diff if I'm braking or not tho? Plus one of my wheel bearings is bad but I already had assumed that from the noise.
He had to cut some wiring connector that was sitting just above the tranny on the drivers side, which the contacts were corroded, and just crimped the wires together...
Sigh..back to the drawing board.
PS I'm not taking my car into Mazda service again...they told me I had to change my rear main seal, and front cam and crank seals. Took a look, they're all dry as a bone. My mech says it would have been a b!tch to change the rear seal. I bet the Mazda techs didn't even look at my car.
