gauge question

I just got a protege 94 lx ? cluster for my escort and i wanted to knwo what the power and boost lights are usualy used for it has the speedo on the left and the tach on the right fuel and temp on the outsides

POWER is still a mystery, but BOOST is used for Turbo models and the HOLD is used for automatic trans models.

None of these have the wires in the harness anyway, so if you wanted to use them, you'll have to get fancy.

Maybe they have the Power and Economy settings for the auto trans like the old 626's had?

on the back of the cluster its called boost power on the front its called power
the other on the back it says hold and on the front it says hold

now on your harness it may not have the wires but im rewiring a escort harness to work with the protege cluster

you cant see it cause ts not etched ontothe outside of teh plastice plat like fuel and washer its underneth it

Hmm, well, just to repeat what mazdaspeedwest said, the hold one is for automatic transmissions. Would be cool if I could light up boost on mine

get a boost relay off ebay and it doesnt say boost it says power but you could use the boost relay (adjustible to just about any level) to trigger the boost power light on the cluster.
