The bottem end is blueprinted and balanced. I bought some 2001 10:1 comp pistons that are a quarter over. The head is shaved, P&Pd, and I put solid lifters in it. I'm waiting on the mechanic to finish it up. All he is doing/has done is bore it a quarter over, hone the cylinders, regrind the cams, make custom shims for the lifters, install ARP bolts, and convert the existing cam sprokets to eccentric adjustable cam sprokets.

The hold up right now is that ARP has the bolts backordered and my mechanic is waiting for them to make the bolts.

I may just buy bolts from the dealer and take them to him. Not sure if the dealer bolts would cost more than the ARP bolts, and if they do cost more, I'm just going to wait for the ARP bolts.

Something like an Electromotive Tec-II or the like can cost even more, upwards of 2000. You also need at least a few hours on a dyno to tune it right. But this is where you seperate the kids who bought toys, and the guys who are building engines.

You should see the article on the TEC3 in August's GRM. Pretty cool

Sounds good! Exactly what i'd like to do

Just view the delay this way.....it gives you time to find a 2nd gen VICS manifold!!

honestly, i'd highly recommend it - especially with the work you're doing - i think it'll flow a ton better. if you can't find a Pro ES, look for one off the 1st gen Sephia....believe it'd be the GS model(?)
