BlueLedz cut his springs. His ride looks nice and seems to handle well. Of course, I don't dare get in his car for a couple of reasons: He drives poorly, he has no passenger seat (too much stereo stuff), and he has so much boom from his stereo - it knocks my hairs off my head!

I wouldn't cut the springs if I were you, but you seem to be going for it. How much do you plan to cut them?
If you cut them in half they'll rub for sure

true. if cut in half, you might as well go buy some new springs cause youll be draggin your gas tank on the ground.

i cut one coil off of each spring (front and rear). i also left the struts on the car. it was just too much work to pull them off for five mins worth of cutting.

as far as the scrubbing goes, ive got 17's with 215/45/17 Toyo Proxes. the sides all have scrapes from rubbing on the fender lips. and this is even after rolling them. if your going to lower it, roll the lips, and use 205/40/17 tires. this should help prevent MOST scrubbing.

hope that helps some.

as long as you get an alignment so then your tires won't wear too fast, but it kinda depends on what kind of driver you are. me personally, they would be bald pretty soon cuz i would be dropping the clutch and then rotating them. But i also want to know, do you 17 inch wheels with 205 rub on your back strut, on my 91 i know i can't go bigger than 195 cuz they would rub really bad, or maybe it depends on what kind of tire, like brand name, you have
also, there are these coilovers made by Drop Zone that i have on my car, and on the front the top of my tires are tucked inside the fender and the back gap between the tire and body is about a 1/2 to an inch. they are pretty stiff, but i don't mind, they are about 160 with a lifetime warranty so if you want to, check into it good luck dropping your car

my thoughts exactly, when getting wheels and tires, you must consider all the aspects. And it's usually the offset that causes tire rub.

well, it could also be the fact that i dropped it 3 1/2" and im running huge tires (215/45/17). if i had smaller tires, i dont think i would have that much of a problem.

3.5" is way too much. That's the reason why they rub.

it could also be the fact that my car is lowered more than most. 3" to be exact.

if i went with a more positive offset wheel, the back would smack the strut, and if i went with a more negative offset wheel, the front would smack the fender lip. sounds like i got the right wheels, but lowered it too much.

oh well, cant complain. i get looks everywhere i go....
