Cut them stock springs...
yo i was about to order sprint lowering springs....when this kid i know with a 99 cavalier told me he just cut his springs...
he said "they won't sag because its really the stock springs..just cut, the ride is just a little stiffer"
now he has a bad *** car (as far as performance goes...he has some **** from ZEN performance...so i figured if he did this with a new car that he shows...then i might save myself 250.00
he's going to do it for me....anyone know of any REAL harm this could actually cause??

I am guessing 100% of the people here are going to tell you NOT to do it... as for the reasons why, other people could tell you better... or perhaps searching for this topic will find you the same answer.

ok ..
Personally...i saved myself 250 bux myself by cuttig my springs...sure its ghetto..sure it might be a stiffer ride..but hey...u can use those 250 bux for something else in the meantime,,then when u get around to it u can buy the springs. I rode with my car with the springs cut for a whole year with no problems (springs wise) what so ever.

This subject has been around since compact cars hit the scene 10-12 years ago. However you look at it, it's not a good idea. There have been story after story of the problems associated with cutting the springs.
It's your car do what you want with it, but for the sake of your safety and those around you, save your money and do it the right way.
