Which coilovers with ZX2 struts?
Should I buy coilovers for a Protege or for a ZX2? Seems like the ZX2 ones would be better, then the strut bearing would fit with no grinding, right?
I have both the ZX2 struts and springs, but I want my car lowered a bit more than 1". I'd rather have coilovers anyhow.

if you don't plan on using the springs you don't need the ZX2 strut bearings anyway. The coilovers come with bearings and you wouldn't have much use for the ZX2 bearings. The reason you need to regrind the perch for the bearing to fit is because the Pro bearings are shaped so they don't move while in the perch. The ZX2 bearings are just Circular shaped. But if you use coilovers you don't use the upper spring perch, therefore eliminating the need to even modify anything. I'm not too sure if the coilover kit you get is going to matter the sleeves fit over both the Pro struts and ZX2 struts perfectly. I just ordered my coilover kit for the pro.

i recall another post that the pro coilover kits fit the ZX2 struts fine.
the thing would be the spring rates would vary from pro to ZX2, dunno if it would be better or worse...

i got a question, why the coilover from the pro will fit the zx2 strut (front)?? the bearing is not the same size so the part that got on the top of the coilover shoult not have the same size hole?? just wondering....
