cleaning brake cylinder

I went to the junkyard today and picked up a master brake cylinder off of a junker. I want to clean it out though cause theres no telling how long its been sitting out there and how much dust and water has gotten in it(no cap on reservoir). What is the best way to clean this out? I was thinking of soaking it in something for a while, but what? Would running some high pressure water through it hurt any parts. TIA.
peace.
