A very hard choice. Stock I would choose the F20C. The engine used in the S2000. They seem to be strong and robust, and have a proven performance edge in them. The K20's in the RSXs, are more advanced, but I think they seem to be built weaker, but then they're realtively new, so I'll pass comment.

Toyota has some killer choices... the mk4 supra is well known too

I like the BP too... not supremely high tech, just overall good engineering.

How about VW's air-cooled bug engine?
People have been fixing those things up for OVER 50 YEARS.
The original Porsches, dune buggies, three wheeled Harleys, even some kit-planes, and many more are powered by this engine. They still make 'em in Mexico.

My air-cooled vw/porsche 914 2.0 made 150HP normally aspirated. That's not too bad!
Not "huge" but I could have gotten a turbo or a supercharger and had more.
I'm not a big VW guy, but I gotta give credit where it's due.

Yeah.

How about the F1 BMW 4-Cylinder Turbo from the 70's-80's? 1.5 liters ~ 1100hp. Don't forget about the Renault and Honda motors too.

I agree.

I would love to have a Startion. Maybe this summer. I saw one in my neighbor hood for like $1200, but it had some rust, dents, ect...

I just hope no one gets it before this summer.

But I'm also fascinated with the SR20 engine. I've been doing a lot of research on them and found that they can withstand huge amounts of power compared to other 4cyl..
So, since SR20 is up there, thats what I'm voting for.
